EPS has represented clients on oil-related issues since the 1990s. This representation has included stopping off shore oil development on both U.S. coasts, and stopping Occidental Petroleum from drilling 60 to100 oil wells adjacent to the Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades, California.
EPS also worked with the Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) and BP assisting in the establishment of low-sulfur diesel fuels in California (and throughout the country), EPS was also instrumental in the writing and passage of California's landmark re-refined used motor oil law SB 546 incentivizing the re-refining of used motor oil as opposed to burning it as a fuel.
Ultimately, representing environmental technologies requires a successful market development approach. EPS has a long history of: connecting environmental technologies to private markets, government markets (municipal, state and international), and negotiating market entry and expansion.
EPS has been involved in sustainable design and building projects since being founded in the 1990s including: sustainably designed housing developments, green building designs incorporating energy and water conservation measures, the US Green Building Council's LEED program

EPS, working for Los Angeles County, was extensively involved in promoting the development of conversion technologies in California. Conversion technologies (gasification/pyrolysis/anaerobic digestion), unlike incinerators, do not burn waste. They are non-combustion thermal, mechanical, and biological processes.
